Bus

Dublin Bus run two different routes stopping at Newcastle, Kilcoole, Greystones, Bray, and into Dublin.

84 – every hour to Greystones, Bray and south Dublin
84x (commuter service) – peak times only, faster journeys to Greystones and Dublin city centre

Fares can be paid in cash to the driver, or by using a Leap card.

Bus service to Dublin airport is provided by Aircoach from Greystones, or Bus Eireann 133 from Newtownmountkennedy / Kilpedder. Tickets for these services can be bought online, from the driver or using Leap card.

Rail

Irish Rail operate an intercity service from the train stop at Kilcoole Beach. Parking is available. The frequency of service was increased in 2023 and now includes more journeys daily and on weekends.

More frequent services are available from Greystones, 5km to the north. There is a park and ride in Greystones, or Bus 84 reaches to Greystones train station in about 15 minutes from Kilcoole.

Because Kilcoole does not have a ticket machine, tickets can be purchased with cash on the train, or at the destination.

Road

Main Street (the Coast Road) connects to the Greystones area in the north, and Newcastle in the South. A connection to the N11 is via the Southern Cross Road to the north of Kilcoole (5km). To the south, the connector road to Newtownmountkennedy can be used to access the N11 heading south past Newcastle Hospital.
